The function
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of the enterprise architecture strategy for the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center (CAC). This role involves strategic planning, architecture governance, solution design, and technical leadership to ensure that architectural decisions align with business objectives and SAFe principles.
The Enterprise Architect collaborates with cross-functional teams, release trains, program & service architects, business architects mitigates risks, drives continuous improvement, and facilitates change management initiatives. By providing guidance, documentation, and communication on architectural matters, the Enterprise Architect enables the organization to adapt to evolving technological landscapes and deliver value-added solutions efficiently.
What will be your role?
- Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture strategy aligned with the organization's overall business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand long-term goals and translate them into actionable architectural roadmaps.
- Architecture Governance: Establish and enforce architectural standards, policies, and procedures across the SAFe Agile Release Train (ART). Ensure compliance with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and architectural principles.
- Solution Design: Provide architectural guidance and support to Program Architects as well as Service Architects supporting the Agile teams within the ART. Collaborate with product managers, scrum masters, and development teams to design scalable and resilient solutions that meet business needs.
- Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert on enterprise architecture principles, methodologies, and emerging technologies. Mentor junior architects and provide guidance on architectural design patterns and practices.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in the architecture and design solutions to mitigate them effectively. Conduct risk assessments and recommend risk mitigation strategies to ensure the security, reliability, and integrity of the systems.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders from various departments, including business units, IT operations, security, and compliance, to understand their requirements and incorporate them into the architectural design.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and performance of the enterprise architecture.
- Alignment with SAFe Principles: Ensure alignment of architectural decisions and solutions with SAFe principles and practices. Collaborate with Agile teams to support the successful delivery of features and epics within the Agile Release Train.
- Change Management: Facilitate the adoption of architectural changes within the organization by effectively communicating the rationale, benefits, and impacts of the changes to stakeholders at all levels.
- Documentation and Communication: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the enterprise architecture, including architectural diagrams, design documents, and technical specifications.
Requirements
Who are you?
- University degree or higher vocational education
- Min. 5 years of experience as an architect
- Good communication skills
- English is our corporate language, German is an asset
- Strong interest in innovative technologies and desire to work on pioneering engagements

- The salary range (SG H) for a full-time position (40 hours) is between €4900 and €7000 gross per month depending on experience
