Purpose of the job
Based in Weert, the Netherlands, as a professional R&D Laboratory Assistant, you will report to the TTC- Physical Laboratory Team leader. You will participate in projects of Production, TTC-Excellence, TTC-Innovation, Quality and Compliance on many research and support topics. The individual team member has strengths in a range of critical physical techniques such as tensile testing, density testing, out-door-weathering, accelerated weathering, bomb-calorimetry and fire-testing. As a team member you are expected to focus on physical methodology and development yielding a growth in know-how of our products. You will work closely with the Businesses to build strong internal networks within Arpa, Trespa, Westag & Getalit and others.
Role and responsibilities
Support and assist in and report on activities related to resin development, paper and paper impregnation, coating development, HPL development and other support activities for Arpa, Trespa, Westag & Getalit and potentially other international companies joining the group for production and R&D under supervision of a technician, project manager, team leader or laboratory manager. This is performed by means of supporting, preparation and testing of raw-materials, intermediates and final products. Typically, materials are prepared for testing and analysis in the workshop by e.g. milling/pressing or in the laboratory by e.g. sample preparation, so physical- and chemical analysis and simple characterization of the material can be performed by the laboratory assistant. Results will be documented and reported to both, an internal- (e.g. laboratory request) or external applicant (e.g. R&D or support request) on request. Besides this, you are an excellent team player, pro-active person and able to independently plan and finalize your daily and weekly activities.
